Jakkrit Maliwan

Jakkrit Maliwan is an active flutist and teacher. Currently, he teaches at the Music Campus for General Public, Collage of Music, Mahidol University (Seacon Square) and at The Regent's School in Bangkok.

He was born in Phuket and started to play flute at the age of 17 at Phuketwitthayalai School. Following year, in 2001, he was admitted to College of Music, Mahidol University and studied with Katja Langfeld, Siriporn Jiranarong and Hiroshi Matsushima.

While at the College, he has joined the Mahidol Wind Symphony, Mahidol Wind Camerata, Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (SAYOWE), Salaya Chamber Orchestra, Mahidol University Symphony Orchestra, Salaya Modern Ensemble and Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. He also worked as an assistant conductor of Mahidol Wind Symphony, Mahidol Symphonic Band under the supervision of Shuichi Komiyama, who was the conductor, music director, and professor of conducting.

In 2008, Jakkrit has completed his study at College of Music, Mahidol University and obtained his Master of Music Degree in Music Performance. He has won 2nd prize at YAMAHA Thailand Flute Competition in 2004 and was selected as a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he won the 5th prize from the Singapore Flute Festival Competition.

His future engagements include appearance as soloist with the Salaya Modern Ensemble on September 2009 at Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University, and guest soloist with the Montana State University Symphony Orchestra in the US.
